It depends on the system. If you feel a temperature difference when you go from room to room, it is not designed properly and should be replaced. Also it depends on the type of ducts you have you may want to upgrade and save money. For more info check out the ducts page at http://www.hvac-for-beginners.com

The ducts should be fine unless you’ve had some water leaks. I would advise having the ducts cleaned by a professional in case there’s any gunk built up.

As long as you are replacing the system with the same rated airflow you should not need or expect to see any changes. While you are at it go ahead and replace your filter system with a hi efficiency media type. http://yourhome.honeywell.com/Consumer/C…

Normally they don’t need to be replaced….cost is too high anyway. Now if they are extremely dirty inside…and can’t be cleaned…replacement is your only option. They can test the duct work to see if it leaks…and patch the leaks and even add more insulation around them if that helps.
The air conditioner is running good, Its says its cool according to thermosat, but things in the house feels "wet". We turned off the air for a day and it seemed like things didnt have that 'wet" feel. I was wonder if it was the air unit itself?? […]
